Hey there ! So Tess' mother had her birthday this month and I made it back just in time for the festivities. The party was in New Orleans at the home of a friend of the family and Tess planned everything as well as cooking dinner for twenty-five people.
Three days before the party I received the following email from Tess' mother :
"The driveway will not accomodate your eighteen wheeler. Please wear a suit and tie. If you do not have any, let me know and I will go shopping for you. And do not be late, or I will tan your hide. "
(Her subtle way of saying that my wardrobe "displeases her.")
I forwarded the email to Tess and received the following reply:
Is it any wonder that I love her ?๐
So, on with the party..............................................................................................
Tess' mother loves The Bee Gees the way My Tess loves Michael Buble (TOO MUCH ! ๐ฉ ) So the theme was DISCO ! Now, I was in elementary school when the Disco craze began and My Tess wasn't even a twinkle in her Daddy's eye (This is how her mother really talks ๐ And no, she doesn't read this blog. ๐จ As far as I know.)
It was a warm evening so the tables were set up outside with twinkle lights in the trees . No mirror ball though, they couldn't find anywhere to hang it. There was a DJ playing Disco music for dancing (My Tess is a Dancing Queen๐ !!!) and it was a really nice evening and homecoming.

(Note: No birthday cake was seen or served. Mrs. D says that birthday cakes are for children.
I'm glad I'm still a kid at heart because a birthday without cake doesn't seem like a birthday party to me.)
I tried to stay out of the way so I only took a few pictures (and stole the others from our other posts), but you get the gist. The wine was my contribution to the evening, brought back from my recent business trip overseas.
Deviled Eggs

Poached Salmon with Dill Mayonnaise |
Chicken Fricassee
(If I could package and sell this, I would be a rich(er) man.)
Scalloped Potatoes
Apple Pie with whipped cream.
Boysenberry Pie with
French Vanilla ice cream.
Turtle Brownies (Once again, they do not contain turtle.)
And the next morning (well, around three in the afternoon), I got Tess' delicious French Toast (actually, I had five pieces).๐
Then she went back to bed.
A good time was had by all.๐
PS: I wore the suit and tie to keep the peace (My Tess is worth it.๐!!!
You don't want to know what I'm wearing right now๐๐)
And when we got home...............................my sweet baby girl made her delicious Borscht for me, as a thank you !!!๐
With a salmon caviar starter ๐๐ท
With blinis, and strawberries and bananas in cream for dessert.๐
I think we should visit her mother more often !!! ๐ (Or maybe not๐ฌ.)
When Tess was picking the music for the party, she found a song she loved that isn't technically Disco (more roller disco, I think) but we slow danced to it. Twice. Nice ๐. I already made a video of her favorite Thunderbirds "dream couple" Virgil and Tin-Tin , so I made this one with Jeff and Lady Penelope to "Suddenly", Olivia Newton-John and Cliff Richard.
